how I feel about this book I read it and I thought about the unfairness of this world The white witches the bad ones remind me of sexist and racist people in real life and it made me feel depressed and mad Out of topic and crazy I know But that s what happened. The first quarter was slow but things got serious in the last quarter So I guess it made up for Nathan s annoying whining about Annalise. One thing though I don t get how Gabrielle is so in love with Nathan It s understandable for Nathan to be infuriated like that with Annlise She is like the only beautiful and pure thing in his dark and hellish life after all He is bound to love her But Gabriel, how can he love Nathanthan his life shrug I guess he sees something in him I don t know.Looking forward to the next book READ 2 now I seriously can t sum up my love for this series It s complex and brutal and so so messy and bloody and MY HEART I think it fell on the floor I think I am a small black hole of destructive feelings but oh my god I love this book.Notable Things I loved it even better the second time audiobook is still 5000% the most perfect thing can British people pls read all audiobooks of ever, yes that would be nice Something I love so much is how the book not only deals with violence and abuse, but it discusses the after affects and psychology of it It makes it SO REAL Nathan is actually my most favourite violent cinnamon child I violently ship him and Gabriel if Annalise fell in a very deep pond I would be okay with that SERIOUSLY SHE FREAKING ANNOYS ME SHE IS VERY SHALLOW I remember being offended at how cliche Nesbitt s Australianness is last time but wait wait waitno We are truly like that wow I forgot how interesting Marcus is and I kind of love him and that s bad so yeah nevermind me This is so freaking bloody and I love my YA dark I am a bucket of feelings There is war and moral and ethical questions and there is blood and desperation and the craving of love The way Nathan just craves love ajfdkslad help I love this series so muchREAD 1 March 2015OH WHERE DO EVEN BEGIN TO EXPLAIN MY FEELS EXPLOSION I love this series Half Bad was a completely surprise for me, because I just never expected to love it to such an astronomical amount I CANNOT EVEN EXPLAIN MY LOVE FOR HALF BAD The writing The characters The story And did Half Wild disappoint Um, heck no Half Wild was amazing and bloody and tearful and intense I need book 3 like I need air I NEED IT HOW AM I TO WAIT TO 2016 FOR IT Okay, okay.Where shall we begin How about the writingThe style is gorgeous and unconventional and so, so absorbed in Nathan s mind I mean, obviouslyit s by Nathan after all, right But it s his VOICE It s so incredibly unique and always true to him And sometimes Nathan loses it and we don t just see it in the actions, we see it in how the writing is on the page Things get jerky When he uses his Gift, the capitals drop off to represent his wild, animalistic state And when he panics, we SEE it as well as read it Nathan is totally wild and unhinged and scared and messed up AND HE IS JUST SO INCREDIBLY WRITTEN THAT HE FEELS REAL I justwow He s one of my top favourite characters of the universe And of course, there s so much Gabriel in this book Gabriel is missing at the beginning, but it s hardly a spoiler to say he turns up becauseum, DUH Gabriel is as adorable as ever but definitelyangsty and angry in this one After all, he loves Nathan so much he ll follow Nathan to his grave Even when Nathan continually friendzones Gabrieland goes after Annalise So let s talk about the triangle, okay There definitely is a love triangle, although it s a gorgeous one and hardly cliche It did bother me a little though, because Nathan is totally leading Gabriel on hello, what about that view spoiler kiss hide spoiler and yet he s in love with Annalise It s unfair I realise Nathan is messed up and has been tortured and abused ALL his life He doesn t know what he wants He s so confused and torn between Annalise and Gabriel THOUGH THE SHIP IS KINDA CLEAR, NATHAN, YOU IDIOT Do we say Gathan or Nabriel And I found the progression of the triangle prettypredictable Which is a little disappointing view spoiler Particularly when I KNEW since Nathan was keeping Kieren s death and you know, the fact that Nathan MURDERED Kieren pretty bloodily a secret from Annalise was going to destroy their relationship I KNEW IT So I found it kind of a let down when it all played out 100% how I predicted But the fact that it ends with Nathan deciding he s going to hunt kill Annalise OH MY GOSH HOLD MY FROZEN FEELS I M DYING HERE hide spoiler It s still got a few funny moments I adore humour And Nesbitt, the Australian half black Witch, half fain, was hilarious Although when he appeared he was Crickey mate to everything which iskind of offensive Australians DON T talk like that HELLO I AM AUSTRALIAN And Nesbitt pretty quickly dropped that way of speaking and, you know, acted normal Um Okay then BUT PFFT Nesbitt was still hilarious and I loved his and Nathan s relationship which was so much shut up or I ll stab your eyeball with a spork I know, I sound crazy, but it was funny IN CONTEXT And Nathan also has a bit of dry wit coming in there Like something will go drastically wrong and he views it in an almost sardonic way I loved that BUT THE ENDONG OMG THE ENDING It s not an awful cliffhanger, but the prelude HOLD MY BLEEDING HEART um, literally, in the book BUT I DIDN T THINK IT WOULD END LIKE THIS I wasn t dumb enough to hope for happiness in this book HA HA HA no but ohhhh, it was bloody and sad and someone INCREDIBLE dies and I was pretty much clutching the pages whispering, No no no I want book 3 ASAP I want it yesterday I seriously cannot recommend this series enough The best part of it is it plays with grey areas White Witches aren t just good and Black Witches aren t just bad Actually EVERYONE is awful and cruel It s about morals and revenge and family There s some sweet moments, but mostly there s tears and bloodshed Witches aren t exactly original, but this series manages to spin them in SUCH a different way that I m 100% glued to the page the ENTIRE TIME Although if I did have to pick a favourite, I would say book 1 Half Bad, was better The ending of Half Wild was incredible but a little too rushed and almost anti climatic in some of the heart rending death deliveries BUT PFFT, I DON T CARE I M A FAN.SOMEONE NEEDS TO PLUCK NATHAN FROM THIS BOOK AND GIVE HIM A NICE WARM HAPPY HOME He is so so mistreated all of the time And yet it doesn t make him a whingy poor hopeless character He s STILL fighting Although he makes idiot mistakes and he s obviously deluded about Annalise, but pffft We ll forgive him He was probably dropped on his head as a baby, you know, poor darling little chap.Basically I love this series It s not average and THAT S what I like to read Don t worry about me, kid The second you start to turn, I m getting my gun out and shooting you I stare at him but, before I can think of anything to say, he adds, Don t look so alarmed, mate, my aim s spot on I d just wing you You heal quick no harm done And from his voice I know he s serious I mumble to Gabriel, See People ask you to show your Gift by turning into Obama me, they shoot and say No harm done 1.5 StarsA somewhat interesting plot with terrible writing, but mostly a chore to read The book starts off with this annoying formatting And then it continues at other points throughout the book too And it s not just the formatting that s bad I ve said previously that parts of the first book felt too much like a rough draft , the same is true here While whole sections in this book read smoothly, others are too unpolished and amateurish One of two things needs to happen for this series, eithe 1.5 StarsA somewhat interesting plot with terrible writing, but mostly a chore to read The book starts off with this annoying formatting And then here While whole sections in this book read smoothly, others are too unpolished and amateurish One of two things needs to happen for this series, either 1 Green needs to get a new editor or 2 Green needs to just plot out the book and get someone else to write it la James Patterson The author has the bones of a fascinating story but putting it onto paper is something that is clearly not in her skill set view spoiler And there are a few passages that are purposefully without capitals, but the audience is left to assume that is because the MC has transformed into a wolf and doesn t have the brain power to use proper punctuation when in this form hide spoiler Further, this book is mostly filler I ve said the previous installment read like an overlong prologue, and this one seems likeof the same It s clear the author is setting up for a big finale but there needs to bedevelopment and less running around in the woods Here s how this book read We re in the woods I m an animal and don t understand things Woods again Major character death Woods Animal Woods Major character death Woods Animal Oh hey, there s the evil Marcus Woods Kill some hunters Woods Animal time Woods Major character death Woods Castle Woods I love Annalise Woods Animal Woods Imma give Annalise some space Woods Major character death Woods EndDid you notice that there were a lot of major character deaths Well, they aren t given any gravity and are quickly glossed over Seriously, if you accidentally skip a sentence you missed a death scene You can t become invested in characters because they are all so flat and since the writing isn t interested in making you feel anything, you simply don t What I did like was a new character named Van She s an expert with potions and seems the most developed of the new characters, which I take to mean that she is important and will die in the finale if I were to just follow the author s previous pattern.Sadly, I won t ever get to know her fate because I will never read another book in this series The first 2 were mostly boring and felt like busy work, and her writing style needs a vast improvement because her releases so far were just not ready for bookstores Just as there are beautiful actresses that can t act, so too are there books that are pretty but without any substance this was one of them Even as a popcorn book, this was bland I was fooled by the shiny covers and descriptions twice already, but I won t be again. In summation, this is just as forgettable as the first one 2.01.2016I will try to re read first two books before the release of third and hopefully write acoherent review OMGOfficially best author ever Now I am just really embarrassed for not keeping it eloquent, though burns This is what happens when you write a review right after reading a book and don t expect anyone to read it Especially authors I m sorry. But, oh my gosh, I m so touched GIMMEEEEEEEEEEEThere is a cover Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyt I LOVE NATHAN AND GABRIEL S FRIENDSHIP CAN WE JUST TAKE A MOMENT TO TAKE IN THE STORY GIMMEEEEEEEEEEEThere is a cover I don t remember catching them But I know it s happening cos there re little bones in my vomit and rags of furry skins and blood There was a tail onceJust yuck.I got confused, I got bored, I had no idea what was happening, and it just didn t seem to get better he further into it I got I really didn t enjoy this book, and I really don t want to read the third one This series is really not for me.4 out of 10 I should probably go and wash my face I ve been crying like a baby for the last five minutes now I ll stop crying and get back to writing this review.Okay, so Half Wild picks up where Half Bad ended, it continues on with Nathan s life as a Half Code who is hated by pure white witches and wanted dead for being the son of the most dangerous black witch, Marcus Edge.I was very scared I ll end up hating this book because it seems like sequels are always worse than the first book However, I prob I should probably go and wash my face I ve been crying like a baby for the last five However, I probably have hatred running through my veins at this point, I m a mixture of feelings and the dominate one is totally pain anger. This book was magnificent, interesting and intense It was absolutely magical Every part of it was intense, I felt closer to the characters, and got hurt when they did The writing style was amazing, I couldn t put the book down or pass a chapter without commenting poor goodreads on it, I was completely absorbed into the story that I tuned everything else out.The characters development was one of the best things about this book And the addition of new characters was what made this book evenexciting.I don t know how but Sally Green managed to make Gabriel evenappealing, how can a character be so perfect and so good at continuing to be evenperfect I don t know, but I ve never read about someone that soft and gentle and beautiful The relationship between him and Nathan grows and develops into something intense and unfair, Nathan can be quite selfish when he wants to be and Gabriel is being the lovely petal that he is and goes all you kiss me I kiss you you scratch my back I scratch yours on Nathan, but guess what Nathan does uh huh.The lost star goes for Annalise, this book was all about Annalise who is the reason why I have cried my eyes out and how she is just a piece of useless Gretchen Weiners, I usually like girlfriends but this one was dumb and good for nothing, she was just a magnet for bad luck and brought crap upon others. Also loads of events happened fast at the end while I wanted it to bedetailed and slow burned, and some characters were unfairly treated, I felt bad for some. All in all, I m in love with this trilogy so far, it s completely meeting my expectations even surprising me with how marvelous it is, incredible writing and fantastic plot THIS BOOK WAS EVERYTHING I WANTED AND MOREI loved the brutality of it I loved the tough decisions the protagonist has to make, and that he s not afraid to make them.I loved that the main character, Nathan understands that in times of war you have to kill, you have to be cruel, vicious, bad Because in war it is you and the ones you love or the others, and a lot of times in YA books, protagonists don t understand the importance and the necessity of being selfish and harsh and cruel and bloody T THIS BOOK WAS EVERYTHING I WANTED AND MOREI loved the
