Personal Response I gave this book a three out of five stars It was a funny and easy to read book that I enjoyed I think that this book is relatable, because I have grandparents that have a lot of money like Lucille My cousins are like Junie in this book, because they are rowdy and break things as well Plot Junie was invited to a sleepover with her friend Grace and they got to go to Lucille s rich grandma s house Junie was very excited about going and having all the room to play in at the Personal Response I gave this book a three out of five stars It was a funny and easy to read book that I enjoyed I think that this book is relatable, because I have grandparents that have a lot of money like Lucille My cousins are like Junie in this book, because they are rowdy and break things as well Plot Junie was invited to a sleepover with her friend Grace and they got to go to Lucille s rich grandma s house Junie was very excited about going and having all the room to play in at the big house They went to Lucille s grandmas, but Junie s mom gave her rules she had to follow Junie was really upset about the rules but she followed them anyways Even with the rules her mom gave her, Junie still broke a lamp and made a pillow explode Lucille and her grandma were very mad at Junie after she broke the lamp All the girls had to go to bed after she broke something for the second time When the sleepover was done, Junie realized she did not want to be a rich and mean like Lucille s grandma Characterization The main character in this book is a first grade girl whose name is Junie B Jones Junie is a very energetic kid that always wants it her way Throughout the book, Junie is very energetic and lively Towards the end she is scared, because she got yelled at by Lucille and her grandma Lucille is Junie s friend that is mean and snotty Lucille is the friend that invited Junie and her friend to the sleep over Lucille s grandma is a mean lady that yelled at the girls at the sleepover a lot Theme I think the theme of this book is money cannot buy happiness sometimes Lucille was snotty whenever she did not get what she wanted, because her rich grandma always got her what she wanted Lucille s grandma was very annoyed with the kids She yelled a lot even though she had wanted to host this sleepover Junie and her grandma did not have as much money as they did, but they were nicer than Lucille and her grandma Setting This book takes place mostly in Lucille s grandma s house This book takes place in modern times, because Lucille s grandma has a television and fancy chandeliers This is important, because it would not have been such a big deal when Junie broke Lucille s grandma s things if they were not new.Recommendation I would recommend this book to anyone in first through fifth grade I think that these ages are good, because this book is at the reading level for those grades Kids that age could possibly be thinking that if they have a lot of money they are cooler than everyone else I think that boys and girls would both like this book It shows that even the people who think they are cool can be mean I thought that this book would be a great started chapter book for a child who is wanting to learnandI saw both boys and girls in the third grade class that i was in reading this book so i figured that it must be a good book There was a lot of humor in the text so i think that this helped to bring the students in Also there were some illustrations in the book to break up the text.Language ArtsI would have the students try to write a story about a party and see brother, but they never make an appearance Are we to presume they are in Hawaii on vacation This is the only book so far that doesn t really teach a lesson Unless you count, It is no fun to have a glasses to little girls Even rich people own plastic cups If you are extravagantly wealthy, you may want to skip this book Luckily, this is a problem I don t have to worry about My daughter enjoys me reading these books to her I have read on Goodreads that many people don t like her, but I think Junie B Jones captures the honesty and enthusiasm of childhood Junie B doesn t mean to be bad she just speaks her heart and is often misunderstood My daughter s eyes get big when Junie B does something wrong, but in the end Junie B always learns her lesson I like her I am a big fan of Junie B.Jones series and I am way too old to be reading this However, Barbara Park has written this book in a way that you can see your own childhood reflected throughout the series In this book too, I could totally connect to the excitement, thrill, anxiety and rush of going to a friend s place for a stay over An enjoyable read indeed Junie B Jones Is a Party Animal by Barbara Park is a humorous fiction and parents because Junie B Jones was disrespectful, said words like stupid quite a bit, and muchAlthough the author had reasons as to why the book was the way it was people were still not having it, so Junie B Jones just can t be a party animal in libraries Showing students different banned or challenged books is a great way to spark this information Students can look for themselves and give you
